About Blurry Vision
Blurry vision often makes images and objects appear dull and out of focus. Several eye conditions and diseases, ranging from mild to severe, can cause blurry vision. Sometimes, blurry vision can also be a sign of neurological problems or serious eye disease so it's important to have it checked out. At Bentz Eye Center in West Palm Beach, FL, our board-certified eye doctors provide comprehensive eye exams and diagnostic testing to determine the underlying cause of your blurry vision. After diagnosing the condition, we can provide you with a treatment plan to help restore the clarity of your vision. To learn more, please contact Bentz Eye Center to schedule a consultation.
What to expect with blurry vision
Blurry vision can cause hazy vision from both close and far away distances. Most often, blurry vision has other symptoms, like headaches, irritation, redness of the eyes, and light sensitivity. Generally, blurry vision occurs because of common refractive errors, underlying conditions, and certain circumstances, including:
- Double vision
- Chronic dry eyes
- Eye floaters
- Age-related macular degeneration
- Diabetic retinopathy
- Cardiovascular diseases
Since blurry vision can be a symptom of several conditions, we need to complete a comprehensive eye exam to determine the underlying cause and ensure it's not something more severe. Your exam may include spatial contrast sensitivity, slit lamp, and standard eye chart tests to evaluate the overall health of the eyes and discover any refractive errors. Based on the underlying reason, your treatment plan may include glasses, contact lenses, and medications, but for more complex cases, surgery or appointments with other specialists could be recommended.

"I have been going to Bentz for 25 years. I missed 2020 because of covid. So I just went in April 2021, didn't know it had been sold. My insurance was accepted only to find out that it is for Medical only and then they say that now I have to pay for prescription. I have never ever had to. But my insurance is different. I need to get glasses so I had to pay, felt like I was being robbed. But no one tells you that the lens and glasses office are an independent corporation and doesn't take your insurance yet. Never going back. The front staff were nice and the doctor was polite. But this nickel and dime was not friendly. I understand they also had other complaints. No up front information so you can make a better decision."- M.R. / Google / May 25, 2021
