Alma Mas-Ramirez, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist. Her areas of sub-specialty include medical and surgical management of cataracts and glaucoma, with a special interest in end-stage glaucoma.
She is fluent in both Spanish and English.
Dr. Mas-Ramirez received her medical degree from University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus. She was a Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami Clinical Research Fellow. She also completed a Glaucoma Fellowship at Kresge Eye Institute – Wayne State University School of Medicine. Her internship and residency were completed at San Juan City Hospital and University of Puerto Rico – Medical Science Campus.
HONORS & AWARDS
Dr. Mas-Ramirez received the Distinguished Teaching Award from Kresge Eye Institute in 2018. She was also honored to receive the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society Award and was in the Top Ten Percent of School of Medicine – Graduating class.
Prior to joining Palm Beach Eye Center and Bentz Eye Center, Dr. Mas-Ramirez served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Wayne State University School of Medicine, Kresge Eye Institute.
Dr. Mas-Ramirez lives in Jupiter, Florida and her interests include watching sports, cooking, outdoor activities, traveling and spending time with family.
