Melissa Iglesias, DO, is a board-certified ophthalmologist. Her areas of sub-specialty include complex cataract surgery, refractive cataract surgery, pterygium removal, MIGS as well as medical and surgical diseases of the anterior segment.
She is fluent in both Spanish and English.
After completing her Bachelors of Science in Chemistry at Philadelphia University, Dr. Iglesias received her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Iglesias began her training as a transitional intern at the Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, HI. Following her internship, she completed her Ophthalmology Residency at the prestigious Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
Before joining Bentz Eye Center, Dr. Iglesias served as Comprehensive Ophthalmologist Cataract Specialist at Palm Beach Eye Center and before that, she cared for patients at Visual Health Palm Springs.
In addition, she has acted as the Attending Surgeon at NF/SG Malcom Randal VA, Senior Cataract Surgeon at Collazo Ophthalmology and Optometry Associates and Interim Medical Director at Phoenixville Surgery Center. During her military service she acted as a comprehensive ophthalmologist as well as an active duty officer in multiple positions of leadership.
